  • An administrator closes the account, and that takes effect at once: it can no longer sign in, and the portal refuses it on any phone or computer still signed in to it.
  • An account that has made no reports, defects or jobs is then deleted. It goes to the Recycle Bin, where an administrator can restore it, and is removed permanently after 30 days.
  • An account that has made QA records cannot be deleted while those records are kept, because they name the people who made them. Your name stays on the reports, defects and history you made, and the closed account stays with them. It can be deleted once none of the records it made is kept any more.
  • Your name also stays in the history of any report or defect you worked on — who did what, and when — even after the account itself is deleted.

QA records are kept for at least one year after the job they belong to is complete, because they are the company’s record of how the work was done and checked.

Signing in

  • A new account asks you to choose your own password the first time you sign in.
  • If you forget your password, an administrator can set a new one for you. You can change it afterwards under “Change password”.
  • On a phone shared by a crew, sign out when you finish, so the next person does not work under your name.

Working with no signal

  • Before you go underground, open the portal once with signal while you are signed in. That is when it saves the pages you need with no signal onto the phone.
  • Reports and defects filled in with no signal are kept on the phone and send themselves once there is signal: the phone tries when it notices the signal coming back, and again when you return to the portal. The bar at the top of the screen counts anything still waiting, and Send now tries straight away.
  • Do not delete the app, or clear the website’s data, while anything is waiting to send — that deletes it. Work waiting in one copy of the portal (Safari, an icon on the Home Screen, or the iPhone app) does not move to another: send it from the copy it was filled in before you stop using that copy.
